he 75th edition of the glamorous Cannes Film Festival came to an end this weekend. While the 2020 event was canceled, Cannes was a much more subdued affair last year. However, Cannes Film Festival 2022 took place in all its glory after two years of Covid-induced restrictions.

Though the annual film festival is France’s most highly acclaimed independent film festival, there is no denying that it also plays host to some of the best red carpet moments of the year. It is indeed one of the glitziest events where A-list celebrities are dressed to the nines.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most fashion-forward events, and this year, once again, our favourite best-dressed celebrities served us more sartorial delight.

Rebecca Hall

On the opening night of this year’s film festival, British actor and film director Rebecca Hall chose to wear a custom gown by Gucci which was embellished with crystals. The bold look featured ruffle sleeves, sheer paneling, embroidery and contrasting shades of red and magenta. Rebecca accessorized her look with diamond earrings. As for her makeup and hair, she went with a classic red lip, shimmery eyes and perfectly styled pixie crop.

Katherine Langford

The Australian actor, known for her character Hannah Baker in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, made her Cannes debut with L’Oreal Paris this year. She definitely sparkled on the red carpet wearing a custom gown by Prada. Her outfit featured silver sequins, an oversized bow detail at the back and a train that elegantly trailed behind her. The actress‘s hair was twisted into an updo by Stephane Lancien, while she went with minimal and dewy makeup to ensure her glittering gown stood out.

Elle Fanning

The actress went full princess in her soft, elegant Cannes look. Elle Fanning sported a pale pink embroidered gown by Armani Prive and accessorized with Chopard jewels for the screening of Top Gun: Maverick. To complement her dress, Elle kept her makeup to a minimum with glowing skin paired with a feline flick and rosy lips. She went for a deep side parting, and her blonde curls were secured to the side with a pearly white beaded hair clip.

Julia Roberts

Oscar-winning actor Julia Roberts attended the premiere of Armageddon Time wearing a custom Louis Vuitton black tux-style jumpsuit with navy satin lapels. She opted for a truly jaw-dropping Chopard necklace featuring a whopping yellow diamond weighing more than 100 carats. While the actress looked stunning in soft smokey eyes, flushed cheeks and sheer lips, it was her luscious and voluminous mermaid hair that caught everyone’s attention. One thing is for sure; Julia Roberts rocked this look, and we are all for it.

Jennifer Connelly

The actor wore an off-the-shoulder silver Louis Vuitton column gown at the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, in which she stars as Cruise’s love interest and Kelly McGillis’s successor Penny, who owns a bar frequented by the Air Force. She looked exquisite sporting minimal makeup with her hair swept into a tight bun which showed off her features and strong brows. While the actress wore statement rings on each hand, she ensured that all eyes were on her dress by not wearing a necklace and earrings.
