Even if you’ve never followed Stranger Things – which, why? – and don’t know the first thing about the characters or plot, you could look at these pictures and piece a logical narrative together.
Millie Bobbie Brown’s Eleven is a central character within the central characters, and while not your regular kid, we can spot El’s evolution through the series through her appearance alone. From uncared-for-ward in a hospital, to sloppily dressed by boys, to cleaner but definitely without female input, to season 3, where we see her friendship blossom with Max, a girl her own age, Eleven’s style reflects her assimilation into the world and discovery of new things constantly.
That brings us to the first trailer of the much anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things that was unveiled this past week. And it seems that there is a new supernatural threat that Eleven and the other kids at Hawkins will be facing. We can’t wait to see what the show has in store for us and how El’s fashion sense will evolve this time around.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has inspired David Gilmour and Nick Mason to resurrect Pink Floyd and release a single in support of Ukraine. The duo joined forces with bassist Guy Pratt and keyboardist Nitin Sawhney to record ‘Hey, Hey, Rise Up!’, the first newly recorded song released under the legendary rock band’s moniker in 28 years.
The track features vocals by Andriy Khlyvnyuk, a Ukrainian singer who left a US tour by his band BoomBox in February to serve in the Ukrainian military in response to the invasion. His vocals are taken from a viral Instagram video of him singing the 1914 Ukrainian folk song ‘Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow’ in Kyiv. The clip was shown to Gilmour by his Ukrainian daughter-in-law, artist Janina Pedan, which then inspired the musician to create the track.
Gilmour said in a statement: “We, like so many, have been feeling the fury and the frustration of this vile act of an independent, peaceful democratic country being invaded and having its people murdered by one of the world’s major powers.”
All proceeds from the song will go to Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief.
