The trailer for Chaudhry and Sons launched on YouTube on March 30. Starring popular actors including Imran Ashraf, Sohail Ahmed, Noor Ul Hassan and Ayeza Khan in main roles, the Ramazan Special promises to be different from other comedy shows in the past. Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, Chaudhry and Sons will be launched by 7th Sky Productions on Geo Entertainment.

Based on the trailer, Sohail Ahmed plays the titular character of Chaudhry Dildar, with Imran Ashraf as his son Bilal Chaudhry aka Billu. Despite the drama being marketed as a comedy, the beginning of the trailer starts off with intensity. The camera pans over a dirt ground filled with spectators as Billu prepares to tussle with an opponent. He can be seen walking intently into the makeshift to ring to wrestle, as his father watches him with a sense of pride.

The relationship between Billu and his father is a breath of fresh air, as their on-screen chemistry is endearing and wholesome. As Billu comes home after interacting with a bunch of fans, his father greets him and affectionately calls him “babbar sher”, to which Billu kisses his father on the cheek

As Billu comes home after interacting with a bunch of fans, his father greets him and affectionately calls him “babbar sher”, to which Billu kisses his father on the cheek.

The relationship between Billu, and Pari (played by Ayeza Khan) appears to be antagonistic for comedic effect. They can be seen having petty squabbles and pranking each other. It is obvious that their playful tussles will eventually lead to a romantic storyline.

The drama directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain and written by Saima Akram Chaudhry promises to be an interesting watch due to their respective expertise.

Based on the trailer, Chaudhry and Sons looks like an interesting comedy drama. There is a dearth of well-produced comic plays in the country. And the medium of comedy that is most widely available in Pakistan usually tends to be political. Despite a good trailer, it remains to be seen whether it will be the blockbuster that it promises to be. Chaudhry and Sons is available to watch on Geo Entertainment.
