*Sahir Ludhianvi’s Lahore, Lahore’s Sahir Ludhianvi (1943-1949), a talk by Raza Naeem, shall be held on Sunday (today) at the National History Museum, Greater Iqbal Park, Lahore. Start time: 2pm.
The event has been organised in the memory of the legendary poet-lyricist of the subcontinent, Sahir Ludhianvi.
Raza Naeem is a social scientist, writer, blogger and award-winning
translator based in Lahore.
*Intro to Salsa, a fortnight-long course organised by Olomopolo Media, starts March 14 at Olo Junction, Garden Town, Lahore.
Classes will be held only on Mondays and Wednesdays. Time: 8pm-9pm.
Instructors: Ahmad Siddiqi and Kate Vyborny.
Salsa is a partner dance that originated in Cuba and has now become widely popular in Latin America, the US and Europe. The course shall introduce the candidates “to two of the three main styles of salsa that they can easily mix and match when dancing: Puerto Rican salsa and Salsa Caleña, a Colombian style popular in places like Turkey and Brazil, which prides itself on rapid turns and footwork variations.”
No prior experience of dance is expected. No partner needed.
