Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, a banned far-right outfit, marches through Lahore on their way to Islamabad as a protest. Protestors from the organisation could be seen on the streets of Lahore, chanting slogans and calls for the French ambassador to Pakistan to be removed from the country.
Lahore police were on high alert due to the number of protestors out on the streets. The gathering of thousands of people on foot, motorbikes and rented coaches resulted in road blockages for ordinary citizens going about their day. There were skirmishes with law enforcement as the police, armed in riot gear, dispersed tear gas to break up the crowd amidst major disruptions and roadblocks.
While some groups broke up due to police presence, others escalated the conflict resulting in injured persons on both sides.
