Actress Mariyam Nafees speaks to Instep about her recent trips to South Africa as well as Turkey and highlights some memorable moments
The government of Pakistan lifted the Covid-19 induced travel ban across the country as well as internationally some time ago, enabling our frequent flyers and those with wanderlust in their soul to spread their wings and fly. Almost everyone with a passport and a reason to travel did, breaking out of the isolation that came with the lockdown. Mostly for work but also for leisure every now and then, our celebrities started queueing up at the immigration lines. |
Mariyam Nafees’s travels looked especially intriguing, her trips to South Africa and then Turkey. The actress took to social media to share some fun snippets with her fans and followers.

Mariyam recently travelled to Cape Town, South Africa as well as Istanbul and Cappadocia, Turkey. In a casual conversation with Instep, she shared that she had in fact been travelling ever since the restrictions had been lifted.
“As soon as tourist destinations reopened across the country, I first headed up north and visited Nathia Gali,” she said. “However, my first international trip was to South Africa. I got really lucky because it was a small window for tourist entry,” she added.
When asked about the places that she visited, Mariyam shared that the list is quite long. She continued, “I got the chance to visit the Table Top Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, Lion’s Head Mountain, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Two Oceans Aquarium, Boulders Beach Penguin Colony and many other fascinating places in South Africa. As for Turkey, she went to Hagia Sophia, which is one of the world’s greatest monuments as well as Istanbul’s most popular and gorgeous tourist attractions. Besides, Mariyam had the time of her life at the Valley Quad Bike and she also visited the Grand Bazaar that has around 5,000 shops, making it one of the largest indoor marketplaces in the world.
Speaking of the highlights of her travels, the Fitrat actress shared that everything about South Africa was absolutely magical and exceptional. “From the scrumptious food to evening walks - everything was just amazing there. I just in love with all of Cape Town,” she added.
Over to Turkey, Mariyam revealed that the hot air balloon in Cappadocia was a dream come true. “I just loved Hagia Sophia. Also, I felt some different level of spirituality in Hagia Sophia. Can’t wait to go back and pray there again.”
The actress, on a parting note, suggested all her fans and followers to definitely visit Cape Town, SA. “It’s absolutely gorgeous with great food, amazing people, fantastic shopping and the city has a wonderful vibe to it. As for Turkey, I liked Istanbul’s shopping, Cappadocia’s hot air balloon ride and valley quad bike was a lot of fun - a must once,” she concluded.
