Road sense isn’t our strong point — a fact that becomes all the more obvious the minute you hit a busy street in the city. From jaywalkers to people driving in wrong lanes and pulling to a side mid-road, without a care for the moving traffic, some even attempting to take the turn where it’s most ominous, there are scenes of violations to be witnessed aplenty. The situation on the main boulevards and highways is no better, despite the much-tomtommed scientific system of traffic management in place. Road accidents remain the order of the day. But do we learn a lesson? Perhaps, only the hard way.
