Actress Mansha Pasha speaks to Instep about her beauty rituals and how she ismaintaining her flawless skin during lockdown.
Along with the rest of the world, celebrities are staying home and practicing social distancing amid the global pandemic. In order to make maximum use of this time, some of our favourite stars are pampering themselves with hair treatments and skin care regimes so that they look and feel their best while in lockdown. One such celebrity is actress Mansha Pasha, who is waiting for the lockdown to relax so she can resume shooting for her upcoming film titled Kahay Dil Jidhar (KDJ), opposite singer and actor Junaid Khan.
The Laal Kabootar actress shares some of her skin secrets with Instep…
“Since I am home these days, I have been looking after my skin quite a bit,” shares Mansha. “I’m not putting on makeup as I am not currently shooting, so my skin care regime is quite basic. I think the key is to cleanse, tone and moisturize and that is exactly what my skin care is all about.”
According to the actress, right now her regime is pretty basic. “It is just my cleanser, my toner and most importantly my moisturizer. Sometimes I use a physical scrub on my face and at times I go for a chemical scrub. In the morning after washing my face with a gel cleanser, I apply a toner and then a day time moisturizer with SPF. At night I wash my face and use a serum and then again apply a night time moisturizer,” she informs, adding that to have a good skin care regimen one has to adapt according to their skin type. She continues, “If you have dry, combination or oily skin, you have to follow a proper skin care routine. It is essential to understand your skin, what works for you and design a routine based on your skin type.”
She adds that her biggest beauty indulgence has to be her skin care routine.
Speaking of desi totkas, Mansha says that she is fond of them but one has to be very careful as some of them can be quite abrasive and can actually harm the skin. “However, spritzing rose water on your face is quite refreshing and multani mitti (fuller’s earth) is also good for your skin but it is something you shouldn’t be using very often; use it once a month as it is very drying.”
On the secret behind her beautiful tresses, she explains that she regularly oils her hair. “I use onion water mixed with coconut or almond oil. What I do is I take one onion and blend it with oil and then strain the onion extract and apply it on my hair.”
The actress advises that those who have dyed hair should not use coconut oil because it cuts the colour. “Apart from using onion juice, I sometimes dilute apple cider vinegar with water and after I have shampooed, I pour this mixture over my hair and leave it in for about 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing it off,” she reveales. “Moreover, do not tie your hair too tightly in a bun when at home; instead, opt for a loose braid. A tight bun is more likely to cause hair breakage and make sure to use natural based shampoos.”
As far as Mansha’s favourite beauty trends are concerned, she reveales, “The beauty trend that I really like is contouring with strobing, which is not a sharp contour and is a nice balance between glow and highlight. Besides this, I really like the no makeup look; it is very simple and very natural.”
The actress says that she usually doesn’t wear a lot of makeup, except for when she’s shooting. “If I’m going live on Instagram or want to click photos I go for a light base, which is oil free, mixed with moisturizer. As for my signature makeup look I opt for light pink eye shadow, with brown or black eyeliner, mascara, blush on and lip gloss. For hair I love middle parting hair - it can be straight or curled,” shares Mansha.
My makeup bag is full of…
“It’s full of various kinds of beauty products; I have different bases - going from a thicker base to a lighter base,” she says. “Basically all of your products should be tailored to your needs. Before lockdown, I would wear very light makeup before going out and even now that I am home, I opt for a no-make look if I’m going live on Instagram. I think you have to have products that are suitable for shoots and different occasions also.”
Talking about her favourite cosmetic brands, she says that Too Faced and Benefit are her all-time favourites. “I love Too Faced eye shadows and foundation and Benefit has some amazing highlighter, powder and mascara.”
“Make sure you include loads of greens in your diet, have a lot of water, take vitamins and also have biotin; it is really good for skin, nails and hair. Also try to limit your black coffee intake as it can really dry out your skin,” Mansha says on a parting note.
