Here are some of the best beauty looks that stars chose for the awards night.
Hollywood’s finest gathered at Los Angeles’s Shrine Auditorium for the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards to celebrate outstanding achievements in film and television for the year 2019. While the SAG Awards are all about actors celebrating actors, the fact is that any show is incomplete without its red carpet, where our favourite celebrities flaunt some of the year’s statement beauty looks. From bold coloured outfits to interesting cuts to striking hairstyles and innovative makeup, the red carpet was nothing short of memorable looks.
For this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, many stars embraced show-stopping beauty looks. Instep gives you a lowdown.
The actress, who won Best Actress in a Drama Series for The Morning Show, always looks glam in a rotation of black gowns, but she switched things up this year and gave off goddess-like vibes in a vintage white satin dress from Christian Dior by John Galliano. Aniston looked effortlessly glam, with her signature blonde locks styled by Chris McMillan and neutral makeup and fluttery lashes, thanks to Angela Levin.
The Black Panther actress always nails the red carpet. Nyong’o opted for a black and white Louis Vuitton dress, inspired by the cruise 2020 collection, with a white satin bustier and intricate floral embroidery on the skirt. While hairstylist Vernon Francois swept her hair up into a 1940s afro up-do, as for her makeup Nyong’o wowed the red carpet with her two-toned eyeliner. Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose created an abstract eye with black and white winged eyeliner to match her gown and finished her look with a shimmery pink lip colour. She accessorised her look with diamond jewellery.
The Bombshell actress, who is known for taking a sartorial risk on the red carpet, looked stunning at the award show. Charlize Theron stepped out in Givenchy, shining in a silver hand-embroidered top and black crepe de chine skirt with matching belt, paired with black leather sandals and a black satin clutch. But the highlight of her overall look and definitely the most innovative was her jewelled hair accessory right down her hairline. With her hair pulled back into a sleek bun, hairstylist Adir Abergel dressed up her centre part with a straight row of diamonds courtesy of a Tiffany & Co. bracelet. Makeup artist Kate Lee swept a soft pink haze, across her eye and a subtle matching lip shade.
Jennifer Lopez stole the limelight when she turned up in a dramatic Georges Hobeika gown and Casadei heels. The Hustlers star accessorized her outfit with Harry Winston diamond jewelry. Also, Lopez’s glam squad was on point with Chris Appleton pulling back her hair into an ‘effortless’ chignon with some loose tendrils, while Scott Barnes didn’t stray from his signature J Lo glow.
After stepping out in a red column Versace dress to the Golden Globe Awards, the Big Little Lies actress chose a navy blue Michael Kors dress for this award ceremony. Only an A-list actress with her confidence can make a gown with so many elements — sequins, a belt, and ruffles galore — look so classy and effortless. She paired her look with blingy accessories including megawatt earrings, Le Vain bracelets and sparkly sandals. The Australian star showcased dreamy brows, pretty, berry-toned lipstick and went with the most perfectly sculpted waves.
