The 45th edition of the People’s Choice Awards 2019, which recently took place in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, saw A-list stars come together to celebrate the year’s achievements in film, television and music. Bringing all the glam to the red carpet, celebrities showed up in gorgeous outfits that gelled well with colourful makeup looks and bold hair statements. While the night was filled with a fair share of standout moments, the red carpet was all about attention-grabbing styles.

From couture looks to classic old school glam pieces, here’s our take on some of the best looks right from the red carpet...

Gwen Stefani

Singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani was named Fashion Icon of 2019 at the awards ceremony. Proving that age is just a number, the 50-year-old singer wore a ruched, dramatic high-low white Vera Wang gown with an oversized black bow and a long train that read ‘Fashion Icon’. Gwen paired her elaborate ivory silk gown with black thigh-high boots and elbow-length gloves. As for her makeup, she opted for an icy beauty look with frosted highlighter, fluttery lashes and nude lips instead of her signature red lip. The diamond studs and necklace complemented her entire look perfectly.

Zendaya

Zendaya, who won two awards for her movie Spider-Man: Far From Home and HBO show Euphoria, looked stunning in a black dress with cutout waist trimmed with crystals by designer Christopher Ebser. The Euphoria actress accessorized her look with a small pair of dangling earrings and a silver ring by Nadine Jewellery. She wore her hair in an architectural topknot, slicked back and held high, while Zendaya opted for a bright coral lipstick and red blush with a little drama on the eyes.

Kim Kardashian West

For the awards night, Kim Kardashian West, whose hit series Keeping Up With The Kardashians won the Reality Show of 2019 award, wore a vintage Versace dress that almost looked like it was made of two different dresses – snakeskin in the front and the back was covered in sequins. Kim Kardashian wore her signature nude lip; however her go-to makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic added some shine using a gloss from Kim’s makeup collection. As for her hair, she opted for long, loose waves that added a romantic touch to her look.

Pink

Pink took home the 2019 People’s Choice Champion Award for her philanthropic efforts. The American singer-songwriter kept her look simple and wore a black pant suit and paired it with a pale pink tulle blouse with ruffled neck. Her glittery silver smokey eye was on-point with va-va-voom lashes and liner adding that dramatic touch. She kept the rest of her face fresh and glowy and finished her look with a pale pink lipstick.

Lucy Hale

Actress and singer, Lucy Hale opted for a black jumpsuit by designer Cong Tri which featured a sexy one-shoulder accent. According to her makeup artist, Jenna Kristina, she prepped Lucy’s skin courtesy of a few of her favourite Dermalogica products. Jenna then added drama to her eyes with blue smokey makeup, baby pink lipstick and rosy blush. And surely her dreamy makeup gave her all-black outfit a burst of blue and pink.

Storm Reid

Euphoria star, Storm Reid chose an optical illusion print blue Iris Van Harpen creation. Reid paired the outfit with a top-knot bun, which was sleek, sharp and had a tiny sparkling accessory – it effortlessly elevated her hair look with an extra dose of glam. She wore natural-looking makeup with peach blush and lip gloss, a subtle cat eye and shimmering eye shadow.
