Parwaaz Hai Junoon trailer launch
The trailer of the much-awaited air force film Parwaaz Hai Junoon was recently launched at a star-studded event in Karachi. Some of the cast members spotted at the launch included Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Amir, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Kubra Khan, Marina Khan and Asif Raza Mir. Directed by Haseeb Hassan and written by Farhat Ishtiaq, the story of Parwaaz Hai Junoon revolves around the lives of fighter pilots and the tough training that the cadets undergo. The film is all set to release worldwide this Eid-ul-Azha, along with Load Wedding and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
Khaani’s success party
Producer of the recently concluded drama serial Khaani and CEO of 7th Sky Entertainment, Abdullah Kadwani celebrated the phenomenal success of Khaani, the play that broke all previous records. The celebration in Karachi was attended by the cast of the play including director Anjum Shahzad, writer Asma Nabeel, actors Feroze Khan and Sana Javed along with Abdullah Kadwani and his family. Khaani, that set a new benchmark in the history of Pakistani dramas, certainly deserved a celebration!
Teefa in Trouble promotions in full swing
With only a few days left for the release of highly-anticipated action comedy, Teefa in Trouble, singer and actor Ali Zafar along with Maya Ali were busy all week with the promotions of their upcoming film, beginning from Lahore. While Ali Zafar will essay the titular character of Teefa, Maya Ali plays the part of Anya, who is Teefa’s love interest in the film. Besides Ali and Maya, the film has an all star cast including veterans Jawed Sheikh, Mehmood Aslam, Seemi Raheal, Asma Abbas, Faisal Qureshi and debutante Marhoom Ahmad Bilal. Teefa In Trouble marks ad filmmaker Ahsan Rahim’s cinematic debut and is all set to release on July 20, 2018.
2nd Pakistan Film Festival in New York
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Dr Maleeha Lodhi hosted the second edition of Pakistan Film Festival in New York last weekend. The Pakistan Mission to the United Nations organized the festival to project a soft image of Pakistan. Some of Pakistan’s top-rated movies were screened, including recent releases 7 Din Mohabbat In and Na Band Na Baraati as well as the blockbuster Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017)and the critically acclaimed 2018 release, Cake. Moreover, Mahira Khan-starrer Verna, Parchi and Mehreen Jabbar’s Lala Begum were also screened. Film enthusiasts also got a chance to meet a few leading Pakistani stars including Mahira Khan, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Aamina Sheikh, Mehwish Hayat, Ayesha Omar and Mikaal Zulfiqar among others.
