We’ve been watching recent red carpets and celebrity appearances and realized that the feminine, classy look will never go away. But take a deep breath because the firmly cinched, hourglass figure silhouette reclaims the limelight more than ever this season. One silhouette but so many ways to achieve it – Instep picks the most standout looks.
Swara Bhaskar
At the Veere Di Wedding trailer launch, Swara Bhaskar came wearing a pale pink playsuit. Although it was super flattering all over, the best part would have to be the waist cinch that got tied at the side. She paired it with paler pink heels which made for a chic appearance.
Sonam Kapoor
If Sonam Kapoor is attending a red carpet, you know the shutterbugs will have plenty to click at. The fashionista wore a white dress with big balloon sleeves, but the dress was cleverly cinched at the waist defining it and making it look even smaller in comparison with the bulky sleeves. Fashion often comes down to proportions and Kapoor really nailed it with this one.
Hani Taha
Journalist Hani Taha, who makes a short appearance in Motorcycle Girl, made a red carpet statement in this playful Adnan Pardesy skirt. Since the skirt hit her waist line, she paired it with a sleeveless crop top that kept the eyes focused on her mid-section and didn’t distract from the busy print of the skirt. We like that there’s a hint of green in her earrings also.
Naveen Waqar
We all remember Naveen from Humsafar but a number of years down the road she’s still looking pretty good. While her colour blocked choice of blue and orange is refreshing, we love the jumpsuit she’s in. It’s fuss free, flattering and cinches her waist to create a lovely silhouette!
Ayesha Omar
Ayesha is another actress who knows her shapes, sizes and silhouettes well and knows what flatters her most. She paired this Hussain Rehar jacket with a plain black crop top and pants that emphasize her waistline.
