Motorcycle Girl premieres in Lahore and Karachi

Director and writer, Adnan Sarwar’s Motorcycle Girl features an all-star cast with Sohai Ali Abro and Ali Kazmi essaying key roles in the film, which is inspired by the real-life events of Zenith Irfan, a girl who travelled northern areas of Pakistan on a motorcycle to fulfil the dream of her father. The entire film has been shot in Lahore, Hunza and Khunjerab. Apart from Sohai and Ali Kazmi, veteran actors Sarmad Khoosat, Samina Peerzada and Shamim Hilali are also playing pivotal roles in Motorcycle Girl.

The film premiered in Lahore and Karachi on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. While stars like Ali Azmat, model Nooreh Bhatti and Zenith along with her family were present at the Lahore premiere, the Karachi premiere saw celebrities like Ali Abbasi, Hania Amir, Adnan Siddiqui and Wajahat Rauf in attendance.

According to Adnan Sarwar, he has always tried to make films that are relatable to the audiences and give a lesson at the end. "Motorcycle Girl is made to break the barriers prevailing in our society and to develop a norm that a girl can achieve whatever she wants on her own."

A special mention must be made for Sohai Ali Abro, who delivered the performance of her career.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon teaser out

The teaser of much-anticipated, Parwaaz Hai Junoon made an appearance this week. Directed by Haseeb Hassan, the film stars Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Shaz Khan and Hania Aamir in lead roles and the film is said to be a tribute to the Pakistan Air Force. Written by Farhat Ishtiaq, the teaser is impressive and kicks off with pilots all set to embark on a mission. It takes us on a journey of PAF’s success stories and uncovers the plot that revolves around the spirit of nationalism. Hamza Ali Abbasi essays the role of a fighter pilot and fits perfectly in the role of a fighter pilot. Hamza is joined by Shaz Khan in the teaser while Ahad Raza Mir and Hania Amir don’t make the cut; hopefully there will be more of them in the trailer.

The movie is slated to release on Eid ul Fitr 2018.

Fawad Khan’s surprise birthday party for his wife

Last week super star Fawad Khan celebrated his wife Sadaf Fawad’s 35th birthday in Lahore. Fawad threw Sadaf a surprise party where all of Lahore’s A-listers were in attendance. Some of the celebs who were spotted at the occasion included actors Mahira Khan, Gohar Rasheed, Urwa Hocane, designers Kamiar Rokini, Umar Sayeed, Zara Shahjahan amongst others.
