Instep Desk
Ayesha Omar usually impresses us with her eccentric style statements. Be it on the red carpet, a film premiere or on the side lines of an event she’s hosting, Ayesha mostly stuns with her sartorial choices. Not only has her style evolved over the years, but now she is more fit and gorgeous than ever.
Celebrities are constantly photographed and filmed; it’s no surprise that they always want to put their best ‘face’ forward. And Omar is one such celeb that never fails to wow us. So, in a bid to know more about her beauty and skin regime, Instep got in touch with the Bulbulay star…
Skincare regime
I am using bareMinerals products these days. I mix two of its serums and apply them after washing my face. One of the serums is Blemish Remedy. When shooting outdoors, I make sure to use sun block before applying makeup. When I am not shooting, I use a little concealer and some mineral powder by bareMinerals. As far as foundation is concerned, I use Bobbi Brown and Giorgio Armani. At night, I remove my makeup with Bioderma Cleansing Water and wash my face with a special face wash recommended by my dermatologist. After this, I put some eye cream along with a night cream.
For a smooth skin
We often go to our dermatologists for this purpose. Medicines and creams which they prescribe also work but you basically have to concentrate on what you eat. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated, have coconut water and eat healthy. Furthermore, moisturize with light coverage moisturizer and don’t forget to daily cleanse at night.
Essential products
Well in Karachi, the weather is humid while Lahore is dryer. So when I am in Karachi, I don’t use thick foundation. I am a firm believer of less is more. Besides, I use a lot of mineral powder as it doesn’t clog the pores. Also, my makeup essentials include moisturizing lipsticks and waterproof eye makeup.
Makeup bag is full of…
My makeup bag consists of primers from different brands such as Laura Mercier, Nars and Mac. I use foundations by Giorgio Armani and setting powder by Laura Mercier. My bag also has my mineral powder for daywear, blushes, lipsticks by Dior and Kiehl’s and shimmers by Benefit, Smashbox and Nars.
Go-to holiday look
Usually I keep it natural when I am on a holiday. I don’t use curlers or iron my hair, I just let them loose. I think having your best shades and hat to cover your head and face is more than enough. As far as makeup is concerned, I apply sun block and a little tanning concealer, BB Cream, mineral powder, mascara, moisturizing chap sticks and little bit of blush.
Beauty trends
There are a lot of beauty trends that I am fond of. I am a big fan of tweaked eyeliner and the biggest fan of red lips and glossy complexion. I also love cropped shirts, skinny jeans, high waisted flare pants with wedges and big shades.
Biggest beauty indulgence
My biggest beauty indulgence is to invest in good quality foundations and lipsticks. I just can’t compromise when it comes to stuff that will be used on my face and hence I spend a decent amount on lipsticks and foundations. When on sets, I usually use my own lipsticks or lip butters. Nowadays, I’m obsessed with the organic range of shampoos by Kiehl’s. Apart from that, I can’t give up on perfumes. I just love them!
Favourite cosmetic brands
It’s a tough question! I love buying makeup so I have almost all the brands. But some of my favourite brands are Kiehl’s for hair care, Giorgio Armani, Nars, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, YSL, Tom Ford, bareMinerals and GlamGlow.
Can’t live without…
My chap sticks, lip butters, maybe my blush by Benefit, bareMinerals, Bobbi Brown, Nars and the list goes on.
Beauty artists
There are a lot of things that I often get to learn from beauty artists backstage. I have recently worked with Omayr Waqar, Hanan and Adnan Ansari who are brilliant and have made me learn how to use primer, how to do the eyes, where to use shimmer, how to conceal and how to set your makeup. More recently, I have learned how to make my eyes look bigger, as I have small eyes.
A big No No
I am not sure which beauty trends I will never go for, but I think big hairdos and massive styles are absolutely not my thing.
