From film promotions to campaigns, it’s been a heavy duty week for entertainment stars, at home and abroad. Instep takes a look…
Mahira Khan and Haroon Shahid
Shoaib Mansoor’s highly anticipated thriller, Verna that stars Mahira Khan, singer turned actor Haroon Shahid and Zarrar Khan in pivotal roles is all set to hit cinemas on the 17th of this month. The lead pair, Khan and Shahid, is presently busy promoting the film that counts rape, revenge, power, politics, justice, and women empowerment as its major themes. After finishing the Karachi spell of promotions that included interviews, TV shows and meet & greet sessions at malls, cafes etc., the cast recently headed to Lahore for the proceedings. Aside from the usual activities, Khan and Shahid are expected to make a special appearance at The Mix Festival scheduled to take place from 11-12 November in Lahore.
Ali Hamza
Singer-songwriter Ali Hamza, one half of music group Noori and presently in solo artist mode, is having a career-best year. He’s launched his own merchandise this year, he’s produced a number of tracks on Coke Studio 10 and has played some gigs that have cemented his position as a multi-faceted artist. A regular feature at cultural events as participant, speaker and/or performer, it is no wonder that Hamza is part of Bareezé Man’s ‘Men of Substance 17’ campaign. Shot by Abdullah Harris, it features Ali Hamza and Rehan Bashir alongside Shahnawaz Khan, Syed Asim Hussain and Raza Ali Dada. Both Hamza and Bashir, seen in this image, are supporting clean, classic looks, and looking dapper as ever.
Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth
Speaking of dapper, the men of Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, seem to have the classic suit with a twist look down to perfect. Both actors, who play brothers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have been promoting the superhero film across the world and while doing so have given fashion fans a lot to cheer about. Hemsworth, who plays God of Thunder in the films, has skipped the ties but has added flair with bold colours. Working the red carpet, he’s been seen in a sapphire Hugo Boss suit as well as a sharp Dolce & Gabbana suit (wearing in this image). God of Mischief, Hiddleston, has also been seen wearing three-piece suits and pulling it off with a lot of swagger, seen here wearing Gucci.
