Zaheer Abbas opens an eclectic studio space
Celebrated over a breezy sundowner in Karachi, fashion designer Zaheer Abbas opened his very first studio/flagship store last weekend, much to the delight of his fans and clientele. Abbas, who made an impressive fashion week debut back in 2010 and was decorated as one of the most talented new faces in the industry, opted for steady growth as opposed to overnight fame; his collections kept coming and they were always impressive whether he was working in white for summer or his hometown’s eponymous fabric ajrak for the Sindh Festival.
A fashion breakthrough is extremely challenging in these severely competitive times but this graduate of the Asian Institute of Fashion Design made his mark and was endorsed to fame by industry stalwarts Nabila and Rizwan Beyg. While he opened his online store a year ago, this standalone boutique came as a testament of Zaheer Abbas’ arrival on Pakistan’s burgeoning fashion retail landscape.
