From the very first roza till the end of Ramazan, something we constantly complain about is the change in routine, which we find difficult to adjust to. Given the sehri and iftar timings, one needs to make a lot of adjustments to daily routines to be able to manage things while fasting at the same time. This happens with every Muslim across the globe and celebrities are no exception. Instep caught up with a few celebrities to find out what changes they make to their schedules during this month.

Ahsan Khan

Television’s hot favourite these days, actor Ahsan Khan likes to relax and concentrate more on his rozas in the month of Ramazan. He doesn’t like working during the day especially in the first half of the month or until he gets adjusted to the new routine. Since he is hosting a nighttime Ramazan transmission, he has his sehri around 2-2:30 (at the show) where they have fresh food prepared by the chef on the spot. Khan loves desi food at sehri,
including dum ka qeema, parathas, peshawari mutton and a lot of yoghurt since yoghurt helps one stay hydrated for longer. After wrapping up the show, the actor gets back home and sleeps till the afternoon. "I wake up for late Zuhr around 2-3pm," he shared with Instep. He is in Lahore these days (where his family lives) so he spends a lot of time with them. Though he consumes a lot of calories at sehri, he keeps his iftar simple in which he prefers water fruits and yoghurt more than anything else. Whatever the routine may be, he makes sure he works out for 40-50 minutes a day, either just before iftar or around 10 at night.

Wardha Saleem

Wardha-Saleem
Introducing truck art into mainstream fashion, designer Wardha Saleem is known for her creativity and unique blend of eastern and western trends. After knowing her Ramazan routine, we can say that she is very well organized not just in terms of her work and prayers, but also in the time she manages to take out for family and friends.

"In Ramazan the routine changes completely as you make a conscious effort of praying five times a day," she maintained. She sleeps around 1am, gets up for sehri at 3 and sleeps again for a few hours before she heads to her studio at 11 in the morning. From her studio, she goes straight to her workout around 5pm and gets back home after 45 minutes of exercise. She takes a power nap for half an hour before iftar. After her Maghrib prayers, she spends time with her family and friends, who often come together for iftar. The designer seems to be very particular about her meals. At sehri, she either goes for egg white or toast or left-over dinner, depending on her mood but yoghurt, cherries and chai are regulars. She breaks her fast with khajoor and water, followed by a samosa or a pakora but jalebi is a must for her at iftar. She eats her dinner at the same time and doesn’t eat anything after that.

Sarwat Gillani

Actress Sarwat Gillani, who is currently shooting for her upcoming play Seeta Bagri, is working away without slowing down the pace in Ramazan. "My whole team is fasting and working all day long. The energy levels are low but we are working very hard," she told Instep. She has her sehri at home and iftari at work. She sleeps for a few hours after sehri and then leaves for work at 9:00am. She gets back around 11:00 at night after which she feels like doing nothing but sleep. Gillani seems to be a food lover since she likes to have a variety of food items during sehri and iftar. Her sehri menu includes stuff like aalo paratha, kaleji, khajla pheni, and mango milkshake while her iftar platter comprises the usual fruit chat, dahi bhalla, pakoras and samosas along with her special salad.
