AMAZINGLY SIMPLE
The 13 most basic and effective beauty tips
You’ve spent money, time and energy trying to improve your skin and what do you have to show for it – nothing! The results are not always connected to the investment. In fact, most experts agree that it’s often the little things that make the most difference. To help you glow, I have prepared a list of 13 simple, affordable and effective tricks.
SQUEAKY CLEAN
First things first! Before you wipe your face, wash your hands with a gentle soap like Crabtree Jojoba Oil Triple Milled to clean and prepare your fingers. If they are dirty and you touch your face with them, you will transfer bacteria. For makeup removal, don’t use tissues or toilet paper. Cotton puffs capture dust in their fibers and the result is much more professional.
DON’T WAKE UP TO FATIGUE
Do you wake up every morning with darkcircles and bags under your eyes? Avoid the
consumption of salts and sugars after 6pm and sleep using a high pillow. It is also important that you apply both day and night eye contour
creams to give you a "pick me up". L´Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew Precision Eye Cream is a great option.
SUPER SPOON
You were born with straight lashes and those rebels refuse to bend. In this case, it’s better to withhold the curling iron and use a spoon as a better method. To prevent damage, try to find one made with silicone which, unlike metal, won’t cause abrasion.
BEFORE HITTING THE GYM…
Exercise is good for the body but dilates the pores. You must remove all makeup before any physical activity for the proper elimination of toxins, dead cells and impurities through sweat. Your sports bag should include a product such as Neutrogena Deep Clean Oil-Free Makeup Remover Wipes. When you finish your routine, rub an ice cube on your face to close the pores.
DISMISS THE POWDER
You don’t like powder but your skin is oily, and if you don’t use it, your makeup never stays. The good news is, you can say goodbye to powder and instead grab a fixative spray like Gisele Delorme. These sprays contain water-soluble polymers that, when dry, form a microscopic and protective film over the skin. In short, they give the same effect as powder but without the grittiness.
SOLAR SHIELD
The price and SPF are not the only measures to judge the quality of a sunscreen. What is important is that the selected one have a broad-spectrum protection from both UVB and UVA rays. If you have trouble applying it daily, replace your makeup foundation with a tinted sunscreen such as Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream.
MOISTURIZE IN THE SHOWER
Most of us are too lazy to slather cream all over the body. Good thing then that you have skin conditioners like Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion. Wet skin absorbs better and faster and these products work the way hair conditioners do. After rinsing off your shower gel, apply the formula and rinse again.
DANDRUFF REMEDY
Aspirin contains the same salicylates that medical shampoos have to fight against dandruff. Crush a couple of pills and mix them with your normal dose of shampoo to wash your hair. If you want to speed the results, rinse your hair with one part water and one part apple cider vinegar. Don’t worry, the smell of vinegar will disappear once the hair dries.
NATURAL LIP PLUMPER
Miracles don’t exist but you can help Mother Nature by rubbing your lips and heating the area, causing a mild swelling that will temporarily make them look bulkier. This action won’t have any adverse effects if done gently and it will get the blood flowing to irrigate the zone.
MIRROR, MIRROR
Time to shape those eyebrows? There are few other moments in your beauty routine that require such precision. You need an optically correct mirror (not deformed) and one that is at least 10x. Go safe with Tweezerman – this wonder also has a built-in light that lets you locate hair regrowth perfectly.
USE OLIVE OIL
As their use becomes fashionable, oils have become more expensive. The Mediterranean people have used extra virgin olive oil for
centuries. No matter what kind, the secret is
to use it warm and allow it to penetrate at
a deeper level.
REINFORCE YOUR EYELASHES
If your once thick eyelashes have been reduced to a meager growth, then the change has to do with your mascara. Like hair, eyelashes become dry, especially if you use corrosive waterproof formulas. You need to hydrate them in order to keep them looking luscious. How? With the help of cotton balls, spread a layer of the classic petroleum jelly Vaseline before going to bed. Be careful not to let it fall into your eyes. Rinse well the next morning.
ANSWERS FROM AFAR
Disinfect your phone before answering or
use the speaker option! Nothing accumulates bacteria more than your phone set and you don’t want that pressing on your cheek. Disinfect once a day with an antibacterial wipe or spray, and answer as often as you can through the speaker.
