Feroze Dada’s Peace Between Breaths begins with a quote from Sister Miriam. His spiritual journey, as recounted in the book, began over 15 years ago during a visit to Myanmar with his wife’s family. A chance encounter there led him to a Buddhist monastery in Shan province, where the monks introduced him to the practice of meditation. Under the guidance of his teacher, Ust Su, Dada embarked on a deeply transformative path, learning what it means to live a fulfilled and meaningful life.
Years later, Dada joined the Sylvan Healing Sanctuary in London, a community focused on meditation, energy healing and mindfulness. It was here that Dada encountered the channelled messages of Sister Miriam, a spirit guide who communicated through his colleague, Michelle Spencer. Sister Miriam, once a nun in the St Christopher Order over 120 years ago, continued her spiritual work with children after passing. In 2019, during circle meetings, her messages offered deep guidance for healing and meditation. Even during the pandemic, Michelle channelled these teachings remotely, sharing them with the group. Dada found profound wisdom in Sister Miriam’s words, feeling an undeniable truth that resonated with his soul.
The book recognises their significance and shares these insights with a wide audience. In Peace Between Breaths, Dada presents the channelled messages in italics, preserving their authenticity while calling readers to embrace healing, mindfulness and spiritual growth during challenging times.
With a foreword by Michelle Spencer, healer and psychic, the book is divided into 18 chapters, each centred around a profound theme – including life on earth, form, wisdom, rebirth and love. Each chapter begins and ends with a relevant one-line quote, inviting the reader to reflect deeply as they delve into the topic. One of my favourites is: “I need to tell you, change cannot happen without upset and disturbance. It’s vital you go inside, to a deep place of peace that rests within us.”
The book is set in the medieval chapel at La Verna, Italy, where Lily sits grieving the loss of her child when a mysterious nun appears, offering her solace. The nun, Sister Miriam, urges Lily to embrace inner peace through meditation, focusing on the pause between breaths to find clarity and healing. As the nun vanishes, leaving behind the scent of roses, Lily feels a fleeting yet uplifting release from her long-held sorrow.
What follows are Sister Miriam’s words piercing through Lily’s overwhelming grief, offering her a lifeline against the suffocating darkness. Gently, she shares the profound truth: “Listen to that voice within. It has many invisible gifts for you,” guiding Lily to find comfort in the stillness between breaths. These pauses become her refuge – a momentary escape from her torment. The book is infused with Sister Miriam’s wisdom, illuminating Lily’s path and showing her how faith, generosity and the willingness to embrace change can lead to true liberation, gently drawing her from the depths of sorrow into a place of healing.
Each chapter explores profound themes such as faith, resilience and change, offering practical tools to reconnect with oneself and heal after pain.
Lily absorbs Sister Miriam’s profound teachings on the eternal journey of the soul and the interconnectedness of all life. Miriam explains that everyone on Earth has incarnated multiple times, choosing their life paths and experiences in order to learn and grow. Despite the struggles they face, these challenges provide individuals with the opportunity to exercise free will and gain wisdom. Meditation, she says, allows access to the knowledge of past lives, shaping both the present and the future.
The book is also enriched with stunning visuals, including The Room in the Rocca Maggiore Fortress in Assisi, Italy; the Sanctuary of St Francis of Assisi, La Verna, Arezzo; Castello Monteriggioni, Siena; and the Chapel at La Verna, Arezzo. It isn’t just a book to read – it is a beautiful object to have on one’s shelf.
