From festive fashion to streaming options and paying ode to a young music star, Instep looks at what made news this week.
What to wear
Since its launch, Manto has released its first-ever festive collection, just in time for the wedding season and the accompanying events. Mehfil by Manto is not as heavy on the pocket as you’d expect. Featuring a palette of colors such as navy blue, ivory, maroon, beige, gold, and purple, the color combinations are not the only reason why Mehfil is worth exploring for this season. There is a variety to choose from.
One set, made of Charmeuse Silk, includes a three-piece ensemble with a long A-line shirt and straight pants crafted from premium Charmeuse Silk. In keeping with the tradition of Manto, it offers poetry in the words of Saghar Nizami, along with a dupatta to complete the set. Another set, also made of Charmeuse Silk, consists of a two-piece outfit featuring a long-length straight shirt and straight pants. The cuts are modern and include hand embellishments on the neckline and hemline. This set features poetry by Allama Iqbal.
Each set (and there are several of them) has its own story, showcasing smart silhouettes, thoughtful design, structured cuts, and, of course, poetry. Together, they are far more appealing than your average festive wear, which is often overloaded with embellishments and just as heavy to wear as the next outfit from another equally average designer.
