here is something inherently magical about street life: the energy, the buzz; the calm and the chaos—everything, everywhere, coming together all at once; food sellers tempting passers-by with the aroma of their sizzling hot delectables; roadside vendors displaying colourful toys, balloons, even books for potential customers; labourer waiting to be hired for a day’s worth of work—coming together on a vast canvas of the city’s daily life.
The streets present a mix of characters, each telling a uniquely crafted story—of hope, loss, joy, grief and more. But beyond that, life is just that. For some, it comes as another ordinary day—taking a bus to school, rushing to work, running errands, buying vegetables and fruits from the bazaar; for others, it marks another struggle in extraordinary circumstances, neatly hidden from the obviousness of the daily life.
In this madness of the mundane, people come together and life, as they say, goes on.
