Pharrell Williams explores the global diaspora – and unity – at Louis Vuitton Spring 2025 Menswear Paris Fashion Week opening show
It went from black, to dark brown, to brown, to light brown, to beige, a little bit of gray in there… and light beige, and then finally to white… It was a homage to human beings.” So said Pharrell Williams after this blockbuster of a Louis Vuitton menswear show that encoded the house’s complex kaleidoscope of design output within a wider narrative that required no code at all to decrypt. Pharrell Williams opened Paris Fashion Week with his collection for Louis Vuitton Spring 2025, editors and critics were not the only figures present. Among those who showed up to support the designer and the actor were prominent figures such as writer, actor and director, Bradley Cooper, American fashion model, Karlie Kloss was also present as was tennis legend, Venus Williams, Joel Edgerton, and many from the K-pop universe including one Oscar nominee. It was a glorious moment the shining light stayed on Pharrell and didn’t go to the front row even though he was very gracious by the fact that so many high-profile names had come out to support to some out. To tell you the truth, this was such a fantastic collection that those who will follow Pharrell at the event at what is often referred to as the fashion’s capital, will have to pull out all the stops just to match his collection, let alone surpass it.
