They call it the festival of colours. But for Hindus across the country and the world over, Holi is a lot more: it’s a way to usher in the Spring season, and welcome the “blossoming of love.” Traditionally, happy people gather together and throw powdered or water colours at one another; dance their heart out; and drink themselves silly. The celebrations begin during the day and last well into the night. In Lahore, this year, Holi was arranged by the Evacuee Trust Property Board at Krishna Mandir, Ravi Road; it saw people of other faiths joining in too. This made it a very inclusive event.
