Drumroll! This season’s hot new trend is…animal prints and animal-inspired prints. Miranda Priestly might not be impressed, but we think there’s something about this trend that’s classic.
Look, animals and nature aren’t going anywhere, at least for another 26 years, and even after that, you could use your nature prints to tell your kids and grandkids about a time when flora and fauna
were an actual thing. And even without being this grim, can we just say that animal print and motif is always mesmerising, an essential, and why haven’t you gone out and bought yourself some yet?!
Zebra print sweater at 9Lines
Winter may be kinda over, but you will need a sweater come December, won’t you? Also, we are part of the club that thinks animal prints are a neutral, and you can wear them with anything and everything. Finally, since end-of-season approaches fast, we would like to point out that this sweater may soon be on sale. And we would go buy fast, because 9Lines things tend to sell out before we’ve made up our minds.
Snakeprint ballet flat at Magnolia Design House
Two trends in one: the twee, round/ square-toe ballet flat with a soft bow is making an appearance back in fashion shoots and on runways, in blink-and-you’ll miss it fashion, but it is an appearance nonetheless. At Instep, we do nothing but keep our eyes peeled for micro trends, and try to incorporate them into our wardrobes as and when we can, and specially if we think the price is right. Magnolia Design House just and finally released a new collection of footwear, and this time, they have included a bunch of iterations of ballet flats and loafers. The other micro trend is animal print, and this pair, pictured here, as well as its black counterpart make for a stylish but practical addition to any wardrobe.
This whimsical dress at Khaadi
What’s up, Khaadi? Firstly, we love that Khaadi is consistently doing really well-executed western and fusion lines, and secondly, a flower blooms out of season any time a brand goes back to its bohemian vibe, as opposed to the this-sells-best vibe.
The dress is actually quite the statement piece, and really, fashionista, it is up to you how you wear it.
Birds! at Sapphire
Alfred Hitchcock endorses this top at Sapphire, and so do we. We love the sunny yellow, we love those fat little birds, we love the relaxed silhouette, and we believe this is one of those items you have to have in order to feel like your spring is relaxed and bright.
