Where: Alhamra, The Mall, Lahore.

What is it about: The opening night’s events include Bullah, a theatrical performance by Ajoka Theatre; qawwali by Salim Sabri and Wasim Sabri; and an exhibition of women artists of Pakistan. Saturday’s events include a variety of panel discussions such as Refashioning Pakistani Music, featuring Rohail Hyatt and Ali Noor; Indo- Pak Affairs, with Mani Shanker Aiyar and Shahid Mali, moderated by Fakir Syed Aijazuddin; conversations with Manmeet Walia, Sarmad Sehbai, Zehra Nigah and Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra; Kathak performance by Adnan Jahangir; and a tribute to Shoaib Hashmi, the translator, by Navid Shahzad and Adeel Hashmi.

*37th Lahore International Book Fair

Where: Expo Centre, Lahore.

What is it about: The event promises “big discounts on all books,” fun activities such as a magic show, storytelling sessions, children’s corner, exclusive book launches, meet-and-greet sessions with authors, and an opportunity to meet the publishers.
