Pakistanis live perennially between two states of mind, no matter the weather. You can spot each by how they dress. Which category do you fall in?
It could be high winter, but our friends here will just always be ready for outdoorsy activities, light clothing, and a laid back attitude all year long. They frustrate us though we wish we could be as devil-may-care about stuff as they are. And their sun-kissed nonchalance doesn’t just reflect in their style; they also probably don’t know how to file taxes, drop their phone in the laundry basket with the laundry, drive to Saddar because they missed the cut for Clifton, and didn’t hear what you just said, could you say that again please?
What their chilled out state of being costs them is made up through their style. Loose silhouettes and aquatic palettes dominate their wardrobes, and all they have to do when it gets chilly outside is pull on a scarf, shawl or their dad’s old jumper. Twinkly accessories set the mood, and the more whimsical the footwear, the better.

You know the type. Monochromatic, deadpan, either vehemently unhealthy or the most clean-diet-and-habit people you know. They will work till they drop and when they party, they can’t seem to stop. You can’t guess any of these extremes just from looking at them because they hide it so well behind their neutral, architectural outfits, no-makeup looks or a bold red lip, and self-assured vibe.
What you don’t know is, behind this streamlined demeanor is the distinct desire to stand out, shock, and awe when you least expect it. You’ll see this reflected in their accessories, little details on their clothes, or the ease with which they carry a style surprise, almost making it look like the most casual thing in the world.
