Happy, momentous, sometimes controversial! Aren’t all weddings just so much fun?
Ushna Shah was every bride when she realized that despite her wedding invitation noting whether guests could bring a plus one or not, a guest here and there eschewed the request and brought more than one plus, and maybe a drone too. Errant wedding guests aren’t what we should focus on though, and what is a wedding without a bit of drama, so we will look at just how pretty Ushna looks in that red Wardha Saleem! Every bit the traditional bride, Ushna Shah positively glowed on her big day, and hers is one of our favorite celebrity-brides-in-red looks for sure.
Saboor Aly was very annoyed by the fact that Iqra Aziz’s character wore her entire wedding look for a television series. While the outfit obviously came from the same designer, which is surely common, Saboor’s beef was with the fact that the play’s stylist ripped off everything from her look, including the size and occurrence of jewelry. Yes the looks were really similar, but we can’t decide if we would be similarly annoyed by someone being that inspired by something we wore. Just take the imitation as a high compliment and move on? And maybe next time, stylists/designers/productions can pay a token fee for the inspo.
Mahira Khan’s wedding was a study in taste and class with its lofty venue in the hills, her gorgeous silver Faraz Manan ensemble, and the very focused accessories, with nothing taking away from anything as far as her look went. Mahira’s husband, Salim Karim shed a few tears as she walked up to him, possibly not believing his luck on marrying a woman Pakistan widely and proudly acknowledges as one of the most beautiful and sweetest. As far as event design goes, brides in 2024 should definitely look at the Mahira-Salim wedding as a blueprint for their own.
