t has been said, according to streaming music websites that rap music is on the rise, conquering a chunk of the music market. No one knows this better than Young Stunners (Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus) who seem to be the choice of every corporate-backed entity when they are not collaborating with other rising stars of music.
Redbull brought its Off the Roof campaign – that was launched with an opening concert and song (‘Dheem Tana’) to Karachi recently. But Noori (featuring Ali Noor, Ali Hamza and Kami Paul as the core team) had their moments with screaming fans who were happy to see the band come together after solo projects. Does this mean another album is in the pipeline? We can’t say just yet because even as solo journeys will continue, the band has lived up to its promise and appeared together after quite a while.
The idea behind the campaign is to bring music to the audiences rather than an audience going to where the artist is based. If pictures are anything to go by and they are, older fans of Noori returned as well as new ones while Young Stunners stunned yet again. Rap music is truly taken off in Pakistan.
Here is a quick look at the jamboree…
