potify, the audio-streaming platform, past celebrating its second-year anniversary in the Pakistani market, continues to reveal habits of listeners across the country.

As Spotify data suggests, based on user’s listening playlists, some of the most popular songs in the country include Kaifi Khalil’s ‘Kahani Suno 2.0’, the National Anthem (in mellow playlists).

The top five artists are Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Talha Anjum, Asim Azhar and Rovalio.

While Atif Aslam continues to be the most streamed artist, there are other notable names that have become very popular with listeners.

In user playlists, second and third place belongs to songs such as ‘Iraaday’ and ‘Bikhra’ by Abdul Hannan and Rovalio, respectively. Asim Azhar follows closely in the fourth slot with ‘Jo Tu Na Mila’ with the fifth slot going to ‘Siyah’ by Abdul Hannan and Baig.

Spotify reports that Gen-Z is the highest contributor of mellow music streaming with 46.8 percent streams coming from this age group. Those between 25 and 29 fall under the second biggest audience with a 16.4 percent listening share with listening habits of those under 17 years to be 14.4 percent.

In other data, Spotify unveiled that most users preferred listening to mellow music between the hours of 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Streaming music starts to increase at 6:00 PM and stays strong up until 11:00 PM at night.
