Now it’s fashion’s turn.

Students of the Asian Institute of Fashion Design (AIFD), Iqra University, will be showcasing their work in Paris, France, during the Paris Fashion Week, and what could be more fabulous than displaying your talent in The City of Light during one of the most prominent fashion industry events in the world?

Under the tutelage of Maheen Lakhani Ahmar, the co-founder and CEO of AIFD, the students will present a collection of work at the Hôtel d’Évreux located in Place Vendôme in Paris – the home to designer brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, and Cartier – on March 5th, 2023, providing emerging talent a chance to jump-start their career while putting Pakistani designers at the forefront of the fashion landscape.

AIFD’s show in Paris will begin with their first ever student-made fashion film, Enchanted Odyssey, followed by a showcase of the top 10 looks from the AIFD Thesis Collection 2022.

“Radical changes and challenging endeavours in fashion education will only set us apart as a fashion institute,” Maheen Lakhani Ahmar told Instep in reference to AIFD’s work. “It’s not the degree but the experiences that will be the true measure of success.”

Joining the AIFD team as brand ambassadors will be actress Momal Sheikh, actor Hasan Rizvi, and fashion enthusiast Alizeh Pasha, all three of whom have been very supportive of the students’ work.
