Oppenheimer

Writer-director Christopher Nolan is all set to give us a history lesson in his latest cinematic endeavour, a biographical drama that tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist who is known as the “father of the atomic bomb”. Cillian Murphy portrays the scientist who was instrumental in developing the first nuclear weapons in the 1940s, and the very impressive cast also includes the likes of Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and Robert Downey Jr. Oppenheimer is expected to arrive in cinemas this July.

The Killer

In his second cinematic project for Netflix (following 2020’s Oscar-winning Mank), David Fincher has adapted French writer Alexis Nolent’s graphic novel The Killer into a neo-noir action thriller. The story revolves around an assassin, played by Michael Fassbender, who “begins to psychologically crack as he develops a conscience”.

The Killer is scheduled for a November strea-ming release.

If you love sci-fi nearly as much as we do then you’ll want to check out 65, the new thriller by filmmaking duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Adam Driver stars as an astronaut who crash lands on a mysterious planet, only to discover that he is in fact stranded on prehistoric Earth, 65 million years in the past. Danny Elfman has composed the film’s score and Sam Raimi serves as one of the movie‘s producers, so the project must clearly have potential.

65 awaits a March release.

Elemental

Pixar movies are always a delight, which is why we are looking forward to Elemental, the studio’s 27th feature film. The story is based on the classical elements – fire, water, air, and earth – which are anthropomorphized and turned into the animated fable’s central characters. Peter Sohn (who previously helmed Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur) serves as the project’s director and has used experiences from his own youth as inspiration for the tale.

Elemental will arrive on the big screen this June.
