The 26-year-old actor, gearing up for the release of Dune 2, is back in the fashion spotlight and he doesn’t disappoint.
Who knew that the actor (Timothee Chalamet) – who played the somewhat neglected son, Tom, in Chris Nolan’s Interstellar (2014) - would go on to become one of
Hollywood’s young, restless and breakthrough stars in just a few years with films like Call Me by Your Name and Ladybird? In the New Year, Timothee will be seen in multiple roles but irrespective of how those film perform at the box office, the young actor will continue to turn heads at the red carpet. A quick look at his recent fashion splash…
Bones and All
If 2023 will be defined by some intriguing upcoming films, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part 2 will certainly make the cut. With 26-year-old Timothee Chalamet confessing that co-star Zendaya will have a substantial role in it – unlike the preceding film Dune – fans are certainly more excited about the upcoming sequel of the sci-fi film that’s based on books by Frank Herbert. As for Timothee, he will also appear in Wonka. But, in the meantime, with both films in post-production, the young actor did turn heads as he was seen promoting a film called Bones And All at the Venice Film Festival premiere. His wardrobe choices, at film events and industry events, have been described by some as his most stylish looks.
For the Venice premier of his film, the 26-year-old actor opted for his go-to designer, Haider Ackermann with a custom ensemble. Though the film received a standing ovation post-premiere, all eyes were on Timothee as he stepped on the red carpet, in a red metallic halter-neck top with a backless design paired with corresponding red tailored pants. He accessorized with Cartier jewelry. Harry Styles, please take notes.
White Collar
During the London leg of promoting his film, Bones & All, Timothee opted for a monochromatic look. At the London film festival premiere, Timothee’s look was an all-white suit designed with an asymmetrical collared suit jacket, fitted white trousers by Alexander McQueen matched with white Chelsea boots. He accessorized with a fitting crystal encrusted skeleton choker. No one can carry white as well as Timothee does, among the young guns of Hollywood.
Making history
In 2022, somewhere between filming Dune 2 in the Middle Eastern desert to prominent 2023 projects, Timothee Chalamet made history as he appeared on the British Vogue Magazine. The actor is not just any other celebrity, he’s also a style star. But his fashion choices and enormous fan following doesn’t mean he’s ready to jump on the superhero bandwagon.
Known for his unexpected fashion moods, Timothee did tell the magazine what his monumental Vogue cover moment meant: “The nature of the world now, you know… It felt right to not make it too statement-y.”
In the cover shots, Timothee stands out, wearing a pearl necklace with a blue jacket. Harry Styles did appear on the American Vogue and Zayn Malick appeared on British Vogue’s digital edition but in its 106-year history, Timothee is the only one to appear on the cover, both print and digital, with an equally spunky shoot.
Go with the Classic
For someone like Timothee Chalamet, there is an expectation that not only can he deliver as an actor, but also a stylish star. But you don’t always need to wear floral suits. Sometimes, it is best to play with the classic affair as Timothee did while attending a party at Venice Film Festival. The actor opted for an Alexander McQueen suit but gave it his own spin by turning one lapel up and out.
