If you’re looking for things to perk up your wardrobe, check out these basics, available at a store, or website near you now.

OOTD: Local edition

T

here have been times in the last two years, where if given the choice to buy a sweater worth 6000PKR from Zara or Mango, versus a similarly-priced sweater at a local vendor’s, gave us pause. Why would I pay this much for an Outfitters sweater when I can get the same thing at Mango across the floor?

The thing is, with duties and costs of production going up across the board, it is inevitable that prices will rise. In that instance, a personal choice to make could involve buying local as much as possible.

To that end! Some of the most stylish pieces we’ve seen at home recently, and yes, the price seems steep, but tbh, we’d rather see our money fill the coffers of local businesses than foreign ones.

Seeing red with Daaman

Designer Maliha Chaudhry shut down her physical outlets once the Covid recession hit, and we missed Daaman’s no-nonsense, fuss-free styles. However, Daaman is now selling online, with a new collection being released routinely, and this is a good thing. With smaller operations and fewer pieces made, the design is once again completely under Maliha’s control, which is what the label had lost once multiple people, we assume, were designing for it. Take any one of these Daaman pieces as your base outfit, and build it for work or date night.

Just Mochari

OOTD: Local edition

What’s happening with Mochari is that they’re making some very indie-hipster-looking shoes, and you have to keep staring at them to really get what makes them tick. Most pieces are made with synthetic leather and cotton jute, and while the tones are muted, there’s something very compelling about the designs.

GoSnapp

OOTD: Local edition

For the hundredth time, GoSnapp is really the answer to a lot of those existential I have nothing to wear crises. Whether you’re looking for a pant, jumpsuit, or dress that you can wear several ways, it is very likely that GoSnapp has what you’re looking for.
