The brand has committed itself to being an enriching platform for small business women entrepreneurs looking for a boost…
In an era where fast fashion has expanded its ever-deepening roots across Pakistan and each brand is fighting for higher profitability rates at the cost of diminishing quality, there is one retail giant that has gone beyond seeking revenue and instead is creating a nurturing environment for upcoming entrepreneurs.
That retail mammoth is none other than the leading name of the industry, Khaadi.
After dominating the Pakistani fashion market for more than two decades, Shamoon Sultan and his team have truly made 2022 a year of change at Khaadi. Starting with a completely new image for the brand, the team has now delved even deeper into being a support system for small businesses and entrepreneurs with their latest not-for-profit platform, Kreate Your Mark.
Hoping to enable women entrepreneurs to pursue their passion and create their mark by providing access to prime locations within Khaadi stores and to Khaadi customers, the platform paves the way for women entrepreneurs in Pakistan to own their ambition by allowing them a dedicated space at the heart of The Experience Hub. It aims to provide ‘Kreators’ an opportunity to not only connect with the customer but also other incredible women who aspire to join their journey.
In their debut, Khaadi selected three women entrepreneurs. Ayesha Basit, the founder of Ayesha Accessories, designs bold, experimental, distinctive, and expressive contemporary pieces from deconstructed old jewelry, Rahma and Javaria, founders of PJ’s Jars, which houses over 40 different seasonal variants of chutneys, achaars, spices, cooking oils, pastes, sharbats, panjeeri, and saunf, all made in-house, and Fariha Arsalan, who is the founder of Interlace, a business featuring modern handcrafted pieces by using natural materials.
Each of the selected entrepreneur was nominated after a thorough process vetting their portfolio and requirements – which included stipulations such as being a Pakistani resident, and owning the largest or an equal stake in your business with more than one year in operations. Each entrepreneur can be part of the platform for a minimum of 30 days per store, and will have an opportunity to become part of Khaadi’s supply chain, ultimately allowing them to scale their business.
The much-needed platform which will soon be seen in Islamabad and Lahore stores as well, not only paves the way for more women entrepreneurs to reach for their dreams but also allows them economic freedom; as Khaadi ensures every selected entrepreneur will receive 100% of the sales contribution from their product line.
