JI rally for cut in POL prices

MULTAN: Activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami on Friday staged a demonstration against inflation and demanded reduction in fuel prices.
The JI activists led by JI Punjab naib ameer Ch Aziz Latif chanted slogans against inflation and high rates of POL products and blocked Masoom Shah Road in protest. Speaking on the occasion, Ch Aziz criticised the government for ever increasing inflation and demanded immediate cut in fuel prices. JI Multan district ameer Asif Mehmood, Dr Khalid Rashid, Maulana Bashir, Khawaja Muhammad Asim, Dr Ashraf Ali Atiq and others also spoke.
‘MCCI PATRONISING BLUE POTTERY’: The Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) is encouraging and patronising the craftsmen and skilled persons attached with blue pottery industry and devising strategy to strengthen the artisans.
It was said by MCCI president Farid Mughees Sheikh while addressing a training workshop on blue pottery, which was jointly organised by the MCCI and a local NGO here on Friday. The MCCI president said that the Multan city had the historical and cultural heritage of blue pottery and efforts were needed to strengthen the people attached with this field. He said that this approach would provide employment opportunities to the artisans of blue pottery. He stressed the need for revival of traditional craft of blue pottery industry, enhancing competitiveness and productivity of blue pottery industry in the Southern Punjab. Training of artisans on modern lines in blue pottery, product development and diversification would help strong the blue pottery industry, he added.
