The Korean way

If we want to make our country an Asian Tiger, then we should learn from South Korea. The country has no natural resources compared to us. It borders a country known for its unpredictable actions. But despite all these handicaps, South Korea started its journey on the road to economic development in 1961 by overcoming its energy crisis first before going for mega projects. Today, South Korea is the 13th biggest economy in the world.

One of the main reasons for the decline in foreign direct investment in our country is the shortage of energy and bad law and order situation. We need to utilise our untapped natural resources like coal, wind, solar and ocean to overcome the energy crisis, in addition to increasing the pace of development of various strategic projects going on in the country. If the power generation policy announced in 2015 is implemented, then we can achieve the required development goals within five years. We have a talented and hardworking labour class and geostrategic location. These make us an important country in the region. We should use these opportunities to our advantage.
