AIOU launches students website

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced a new updated-website facilitating the students to have easy access and communication with the university in academic matters.
It is a students’ friendly website which contains special features like information about tutors, assignments’ schedules, books and degrees’ tracking system. It also facilitates the students for submitting online application for admission. Fee calculated system for each academic program is also available in the new website (www.aiou.edu.pk), which has been developed in more professionally manner, taking advantage of the mew technology.
Through this website, the students will get update about the status of various academic programs. Vice-Chancellor Professoe Dr. Shahid Siddiqui who formally launched the website assured the students that they will have easy online interaction with the university for continuing their future study.
It is a part of students’ support system which is also aimed at reaching the door-steps of the students across the country, he added.
Paramedical Day: The All Pakistan Paramedical Staff Federation observed the ‘National Paramedical Day’ to celebrate 5th anniversary of approval of new service structure for paramedics of the federal government health institutions.
In this connection, the PIMS unit of the federation organised a function at the MCH auditorium.
Vice Chancellor of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed Medical University Professor Javed Akram and PIMS administrator Dr. Altaf Hussain Qureshi were chief guests on the occasion.
Addressing the audience, Professor Javed Akram assured paramedics that more conducive working environment would be provided to them.
He said that more avenues of getting higher education up to the level of Ph D would be created for paramedics at the medical university. In this connection, he said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted 24 acres of land along I J Principal Road for construction of university’s campus where paramedics’ classes would be started.
The representatives of paramedical staff Sirajuddin Barki, Arshad Khan, Muhammad Anas, Ghulam Safdar and others also spoke on the occasion.
