PHF thanks PM for cash awards

KARACHI: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday for announcing Rs500,000 for each player and official for winning gold medal in South Asian Games in India.
PHF said it would leave no stone unturned to revive the game in the country. “We need continued support, guidance and sincere wishes of all,” it said in a statement.
Pakistan senior team will participate in the 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia, from April 7 to 17.
To spot talented players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK and FATA, trials will be held on February 20 at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, Peshawar.
A PHF official said that if needed the trials would be extended for one day.
