KARACHI: A big company of the private sector has signed a sponsorship deal with PHF as co-sponsor for one year, mostly for domestic competitions, ‘The News’ learnt on Tuesday.
A source in PHF said that the company was a big name in the paint-making industry and would provide a handsome amount as co-sponsors for one year.
“The deal is stated to be of Rs10 million,” another source said.
The PHF managed to get sponsorship from various private and public sector institutions during the national championship in Karachi earlier this year.
This deal will help PHF a lot as it needs money for the national junior championship in Lahore, Pakistan senior team’s visit to Malaysia for Sultan Azlan Shah tournament, women’s national championship and some other events.
The sources said that since the PHF had activated its marketing department, the private and public sector companies had started taking interest in the national game and more deals are expected in near future.
Meanwhile, a source said the PHF was going to organise some colorful, night competitions, which also would be sponsored by big public institutions and private companies.
The qualifying round of national junior championship will be held in KP from February 23-26. The main round will be held in Lahore form March 1 to 10.
The sources said that the national junior championship would also offer various prizes to motivate the junior players.
