KARACHI: Mansoor Zaman and second seed Suleman Saleem reached the final of Boys U19 event in Rashidabad National Junior squash championship 2016 at Rehana Nazar Squash Complex in Rashidabad (Tandoallahyar).
Mansoor faced tough resistance from third seed Ali Karamat. At one stage, Mansoor was 2-1 down and an upset seemed likely. But Mansoor made a strong comeback in fourth and fifth sets and recorded a 10-12, 11-9, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7 victory in 52 minutes.
Suleman overpowered his unseeded opponent Abdul Qadir in straight sets, recording a 11-5, 11-9, 11-5 win in 27 minutes.
In boys Under-17 event semi-finals, top seed Abbas Zaib defeated Zeeshan Zaib by 11-6, 11-8, 11-8 score. He will face Abdul Malik , who defeated Saif Ullah by 11-3, 4-11, 11-2, 11-3.
Madina Zafar took only 11 minutes to confirm her presence in the final of girls Under-19 when she beat third seed Mayral Shaikh by 11-1, 11-6, 11-4. Second seed Noor-ul-Huda was almost as good as her final opponent. She took only 13 minutes to beat Maira Saleem 11-8, 11-9, 11-1 victory.
