GUJRANWALA: On the order of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, the district police on Saturday launched a crackdown and arrested three people and recovered hundreds of kites and string from them in separate incidents here.

The police during the crackdown in Baghbanpura area arrested three people and recovered kites and string from them. The DPO said that the crackdown would continue in the district.

NAIB TEHSILDAR, PATWARI AMONG 4 BOOKED FOR FRAUD: Anti-Corruption Establishment Circle Director Rana Abdul Shakoor on Saturday ordered registration of a case against four people, including a naib tehsildar and a patwari in a fraud case.

Complainant Akbar Ali of Mandi Bahauddin in his application alleged that naib tehsildar Asghar Ali, patwari Nawaz, Bashir and Munshi Zubair fraudulently transferred his property in the name of other persons. At this, an inquiry was conducted in which the allegations were proved.

WOMAN SHOT AT, INJURED: A woman was shot at and injured by his former son-in-law at Wazirabad on Saturday.

Accused Babar had divorced his wife Saba some months ago and the woman had filed a petition in a court to get maintenance allowance. On the day of the incident, Saba and her mother Shahnaz were going to the court for hearing when accused Babar allegedly shot at and injured Shahnaz and fled.

 

Man, his daughter injured by string

GUJRANWALA: A man and his daughter were injured when a string cut their throats near the DCO Office on Saturday.

Akhtar of Bismillah Colony and his daughters Asma and Amna were on their way home on a bike when a string of a stray kite cut the throats of Akhtar and Asma. As a result, both were seriously injured and rushed to the DHQ Hospital.
