Faisalabad DCO lays foundation

stone for Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital

FAISALABAD: DCO Noorul Amin Mengal on Saturday laid foundation stone for the construction of extension block of the Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital while Rs 50 million has been allocated for the completion of first phase of the project.

The Hilal-e-Ahmar Institute of Gynaecology and Neonatology is being established here at a cost of Rs 200 million under the aegis of the District Red Crescent Society. EDO Finance Ch Abdul Ghafoor, AC City Bilal Abru, MS Dr Hafiz Mukhtar Randhawa, Maj Shahnawaz, Haji Abdul Rasheed, Haji Muhammad Ramzan, Farrukh Zaman, Iqbal Sajid, Suhail Khattak, Shakeel Anwar, Israr Ahmad Khan, Engineer Suhail Bin Rasheed, Muzammil Sultan and other members of executive committee were also present. The DCO informed that the Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital was being expended from 200 beds to 500 beds and it would be Institute of Gynaecology and Neonatology for providing advanced medical treatment to the mother and child besides imparting the doctors with the training of most advanced medical methodology of the gynaecology section. He informed that the second branch of the Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital was being established at a cost of Rs 100 million at Allama Iqbal Colony for providing the medical treatment facilities to the women and children at their doorstep. The DCO announced that another branch of Hilal-e-Ahmad Maternity Hospital would be established on the suitable place at Canal Express Way. He appreciated the maximum cooperation and welfare vision of local philanthropists and said that the district administration, District Red Crescent Society and the philanthropists were jointly working for the welfare and betterment of the suffering humanity. He said that the district administration had focused special attention on provision of medical facilities at the four corners of the city and a new Govt General Hospital was being established at Haseeb Shaheed Colony. He said that state-of-the-art Kidney Centre had been set up at the DHQ Hospital and most advanced lithotripsy machine had been provided in this centre. Medical Superintendent Dr Hafiz Mukhtar Randhawa said that the Hilal-e-Ahmar Institute of Gynaecology and Neonatology would be the first ever and biggest hospital equipped with high-tech medical machinery and equipment. He said that the poor patients were being provided medicines from the drugs bank of the hospital.
