Multan SWMC performance lauded

MULTAN: The Punjab Chief Ministers’ Road map Programme has ranked the Multan Solid Waste Management Company (SWMC) at fourth number in delivery of services across the province and awarded it the best ranking in health and education on completing Geo Tagging of all departments and bringing them online.
The Punjab government has also released special funds for the repair of solid waste machinery and ordered recruitment of staff to overcome shortage.
Talking to reporters, Multan DCO Zahid Salim Gondal ordered the SWMC making one of the union councils as model for rest of union councils in cleanliness, development and solid waste management. The model UC design would be expanded to the rest of union councils.
Gondal said a crackdown is under consideration on unregistered hospitals and quacks.

SLAUGHTERHOUSES: District Food Task Force Thursday launched a crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses in the walled city and detained four people.
Town Municipal Administrations of all four towns sealed the walled city preventing the exit and entry. The raiding teams led by Multan Assistant Commissioner and Director Food Ataul Haq confiscated 17 animals and sealed all illegal slaughterhouses.
