Musharraf taken to PNS Shifa, discharged after some tests
KARACHI: Former president Pervez Musharraf was taken to the PNS Shifa hospital on Thursday evening after suffering some pain in his heart.
He was later discharged from the hospital after some tests. He was kept in the intensive care unit where the tests were performed. The personal physicians of Pervez Musharraf were also called to the hospital for consultation.
Initial reports of the tests were found clear, said the spokesperson for the All Pakistan Muslim League, Aasiya Ishaque, while talking to The News. She said that the General must be allowed to go abroad for treatment.
Despite the recommendations of a medical board calling for his treatment at a place of his choice, the government was using delaying tactics which may put his life at risk, said the spokesperson. A board comprising doctors of the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology had declared the condition of the former president as critical and recommended his treatment at a place of his choice.
