I am a senior citizen. I visited the Peshawar traffic police headquarters recently for the renewal of my driving licence. With reservations about a typical archaic police response, I cautiously approached the reception desk (which was non-existent in my days). Before much long, my dithering confidence was restored by a robust welcome response and cheerful disposition of the duty staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the agility, courtesy and dutifulness of the staff concerned, who not only provided me necessary guidance but also helped me through all formalities to get the needful done. A chain of windows set up under one roof, promptly disposing assorted task segments in a commendable way, was an altogether new experience for me to witness.
This not only spoke of the high quality of training imparted to the incumbent staff but a dedicated and visionary leadership of the team manager. This is certainly a welcome change in the KP traffic police setup.
