Power supply to Rawalpindi localities remain suspended

The electricity supply in localities of Adiala Road, Defence Road, Munawwar Colony, Mubarak Lane and Dhoke Juma that disrupted late Wednesday night due to windstorm could not be restored even in the evening on Thursday.
The Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) authorities have claimed development of a major fault in supply system during heavy rain followed by windstorm.
The residents of affected localities faced worst situation as all the telephone sets of Iesco authorities were silent during power outages. The residents of affected localities faced water shortage as they remained deprived of electricity for almost 14 to 16 hours.
Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Adiala Chaudhry Muhammad Ali admitting all facts told 'The News' that there was a major fault in main supply lines, therefore consumer faced long hours of power outages. The Iesco staff was busy in rectifying the fault to resume electricity supply, he claimed.
