Syed Mohsin passes away

OKARA: Syed Muhammad Mohsin, Chairman Mitchell’s Fruit Farms, Renala Khurd, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 12. He was 91. His namaze janaza will be held in his ancestral village of Shergarh, Distt Okara.

Syed Muhammad Mohsin was the father of MPA Jugnu Mohsin, Mehdi Mohsin & Moni Mohsin. He was father-in-law to Najam Sethi and Shazad Ghaffar. Mr Mohsin was educated at Aitchison College, Lahore and Cambridge University. He and his wife Sitwat Mohsin took over Mitchells Fruit Farms from the Mitchell’s family in 1958.

Mr Mohsin founded many schools in his ancestral area and brought the light of education to women in Shergarh and environs many decades ago. He and his wife also built a jama masjid and hospital for the local people.
