Qadri wants commission to scrutinise mega projects
The rulers are ruining and weakening the very roots of the country by introducing mega projects from which they (the rulers) will earn billions in kickbacks from these projects.
This was stated by Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri while addressing the Central Core Committee meeting of the party from Canada through a video link on Tuesday. The PAT chief demanded the formation of a national commission to oversee the transparency and scrutinise these mega projects and billions of dollars of loans obtained by the rulers.
He questioned that why does the government not open negotiations with the striking PIA employees. He said the failure of the rulers to implement all the sections of the National Action Plan had jeopardised the future of our generation.
He said these rulers had corrupted the whole system. He said, "we know that in the presence of these rulers PAT martyrs will never be given justice".
Dr Tahirul Qadri said that his struggle was not only for providing justice to the Model Town martyrs but also for the people of Pakistan and his struggle would continue until these objectives were achieved.
Speaking on the ongoing standoff between PIA employees and the government, the PAT leader said that innocent PIA workers had been killed.
He said the point of view of the PIA employees must be heard and given due weight, for which talks should be held.Addressing the meeting, Dr Hassan Mohiyuddin Qadri demanded that the prices of petroleum products be further slashed by Rs30 and the electricity and gas charges should also be cut apart from providing security to the people from terrorism. The meeting demanded that powers and finances be transferred to the elected local government representatives under Article 140-A.
It demanded that the illegally earned millions of dollars in Swiss Banks be bought back. The meeting reviewed in details the coming elections in Kashmir, reorganisation of the party and progress in the Model Town incident.
