‘Hitman’ killed in encounter
Karachi: The Sohrab Goth police claimed killing a notorious murderer in a shootout in the Ahsanabad area on Saturday morning.
SSP Rao Anwaar said a police mobile was patrolling the area when law enforcers saw three suspects on a motorcycle and signalled them to stop, but they opened fire instead.
The police retaliated and arrested one of the suspects in an injured condition, while his two accomplices fled.
The injured was taken to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as Amanullah.
The police seized a pistol and a motorcycle after the encounter.
SSP Anwaar said t hat the killed suspect belonged to a gang of target killers and robbers, and about three years ago, he had been engaged in a shootout with by police in Sohrab Goth area in which three of his associates had been killed. Amanullah had managed to escape but not before he killed ASI Hameed Khosa.
