Protesters demand roundabout
From Our Correspondent
KASUR: Hundreds of locals Friday protested on Kasur bypass near Sehari road chowk and raised slogans against TEPA.
The protesters also burnt tyres. They were of the view that the original plan of the bypass consisted of four roundabouts namely Ferozepur Road roundabout, Raiwind Road roundabout, Sehari Road roundabout and Depalpur Road roundabout, but due to reasons only known to relevant officials and the contractor the Sehari Road roundabout was turned into a U-turn.
They said several accidents occurred on this section of the bypass due to the U-turn.
They demanded high-ups of the Punjab government to look into the matter and order construction of the roundabout. The protesters vowed resuming protest if their just demand was ignored.
